Review: Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick 'As You Want Victoria'

Rimmel's lipsticks are easily one of my drugstore favorites and when they
reformulated their moisture renew line a few months back I was beyond excited to go
out a try a few colors.  And then I got a little package in the mail from Influenster's
#VoxBox with As You Want Victoria (360) and was once again...
you guessed it...beyond excited.

Talk about a gorgeous lip pie, right? This is the most beautiful hot pink with red
undertones I've seen in a while. It's not too cool, not too warm. Bring enough
to please the likes of people like me but not too bright that someone just trying out
color wouldn't feel comfy slapping this on their lips.

And I suggest you do!

And here it is on my lips! (Sorry, I just had to duck face it for you all!)
As you can see, the color is gorgeous! But let's talk formulation. It's so creamy,
slides easily on your lips but doesn't slip off during the day, doesn't crease, feather,
or get all gunky (very technical term).

I do use a lip liner (Milani Fuchsia) just like I do with any bright lipstick.
But with 5 hours+ of wear without looking crazy I think this is an amazing buy!

Have you tried any of the new Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks? I have several colors
and could swatch for you if you'd like. What colors are your favorites?

Let me know your thoughts and go check out this lip pie that can be found for $5-6
at your local drugstore or Ulta! And while you're at it, check out

March 2014 IPSY Reviews!

It's that time again! IPSY TIME!!!!

It's no surprise that I love me some Ipsy. I've been subscribed for over a eyar and
really only had one bag that I didn't totally love. Sometimes there's a product here or
there I feel eh about but I usually love the majority of everything sent to me.

Thankfully, this was good month for me, a very good month!
Check out my video below for more detailed reviews.

I've used the Be A Bombshell Bora Bora eye shadow quad a few times already and love it! The colors are rich, pigmented, easy to blend and unexpectedly create a full, cohesive look. They're all satin finishes which made this doubtful but I was proven wrong!

I was thrilled that there was no creasing whatsoever and the colors stayed bold on my eyes throughout my long work day. Perfect colors for my St. Patrick's day look!

The Be Bold mini lipstick from Bare Minerals is a beautiful color, see left (the filter on the top pic makes it look more pink). It has a wonderfully creamy consistency, very moisturizing and pretty long lasting. I only had to reapply once during the day.

And talk about easy application! I didn't need a mirror or lip liner with this bad boy. Absolutely love this lipstick.

The Chella liner in Indigo is so pretty I just want to kiss it, really. I had difficulty applying. However, that's really just because I'm horrible at doing a winged liner!

I'm a 'smudge the lash line' kind of gal. But the color is rich and deep enough that if you're a bit weary of blue liner you could still pull this off.

So what did you get in your Ipsy bag? Do you have a subscription? If not check it out here!

REVIEW: NIVEA A Kiss of Shine Natural Look Glossy Lip Care

NIVEA A Kiss of Shine
Natural Look Glossy Lip Care Sunscreen SPF15
.3 FL OZ. $2.99

Holy moisture, Batman! Okay, maybe that’s a little dramatic but hey, that’s me!

But I honestly do love NIVEA’s glossy lip care A Kiss of Shine.
This gloss is so creamy and smooth I instantly fell in love upon first application.
NIVEA claims this product will provide “long-lasting moisturization for the most
delicate skin, your lips.” And that, my friends, is the truth.

Once applied, my lips feel moisturized for several hours. Even long after the glossy finish
fades, my lips still feel healthy and smooth. The gloss itself is high shine and glides on
smoothly without being too thick or sticky. It’s the best of both worlds!

Have you tried any of the NIVEA lip products?

REVIEW: TARTE LipSurgence Lip Luster

TARTE LipSurgence lip luster ‘Glitzy’
.1 OZ. $24

Per Sephora’s website, the LipSurgence line is considered a “lip treatment that gives lips a natural shimmering flush while softening and moisturizing lips…high dose of color and shine.”
LipSurgence is actually a technology that supposedly provides moisture on a cellular level that makes your lips look naturally plump.

As for reality, I’m no scientist by any means and maybe all this is going on within my cells. However, as nice as it feels on my lips, it doesn’t really feel any differently than any other moisturizing lip crayon or balm.

There is a noticeable peppermint scent so if that’s not your thing then stay clear of this line.

My main issue, so to speak, with this product is the grainy, glittery feel when you rub your lips together. I don’t feel it when I first apply but once I rub…agh, cringeworthy. Is it enough to make me dislike the product? No. Is it something I would purchase at full price? No.

I hate being a Debby downer because I do like the color and application. However, the glittery texture just throws me off. At $24 a pop I want color, lasting power, smoothness, I want it all!

Okay, I know I can’t have everything but I really dislike that glittery feel on my lips. It’s just not right, people!

Have you tried the Lip Luster line, does the glitter bother you, too or am I just plain crazy? Let me know!

NOTD: Hard Candy 'So So Sequin'

So it's not the fanciest or most expensive nail polish. And it's not the most long-lasting.
BUT...Hard Candy's So So Sequin does the job and it's so pretty.

I can't even remember what light light purplish-gray I'm wearing as a base.
I used So So Seqiun as a top coat, with a top coat. The clear base contains
blue, purple and silver glitters that are pretty and abundant.

Nothing's worse than a glitter that you have to apply 7 layers to actually see!

Two coats later, you have a lovely glitter top coat that unfortuantely, will chip the next day.

Like I said, or wrote, it's not the most amaing quality. But for $1.99 at Walmart I'm not complaining!
The color and sparkle make up for it and I've seen several other brands with similar looks
so the price is right up my alley.

Have you tried any of the Hard Candy glitters? What do you think?
